Route Timeline & Rotation Plan
Arrival in the capital city of Islamabad. Our team will meet you for an initial expedition briefing followed by a transfer to the group hotel.
Transfer to Skardu via a 1-hour domestic flight. Skardu serves as the administrative, commercial, and transportation hub of Baltistan. In the event of a flight cancellation, we will undertake a 480km drive to Chilas.
A free day in Skardu to explore the town. If traveling from Chilas, the 7-8 hour morning drive offers spectacular views of Nanga Parbat (8,125m) at the junction of the Indus River.
An early morning departure for the drive to Hushe village, passing through Kande and the scenic junction of the Hushe and Shyok Rivers.
A scenic 4-5 hour trek along the lateral moraine, winding through wild rose and gooseberry bushes. Shaieshcho is located at the junction of the Charakusa and Gondogoro valleys, where the routes to K6 and K7 Base Camps bifurcate.
A 2-3 hour walk through the ablation valley on the eastern side of the Gondogoro Glacier. The trail leads past grassy expanses and juniper groves to reach the campsite.
Follow a well-established trail to Golong for lunch. The journey continues over glacial rubble—requiring caution for rockfall—and climbs toward the beautiful pastures of Dalzampa, sheltered within an ablation valley.
A 4-5 hour trek along the moraine and glacial trails to reach the next camp at Khuspang.
Trek to the higher established Base Camp of Gondogoro Peak to prepare for the ascent.
Following the activities at Base Camp, trek back down to the Dalzampa campsite.
A 6-7 hour walk descending through the lateral moraine, surrounded by wild roses, cedar, and tamarisk bushes, returning to the junction at Shaieshcho.
A 2-3 hour final trek to Hushe followed by a 5-6 hour drive to Skardu via Khaplu. Khaplu was once the second-largest kingdom in Baltistan, guarding the ancient trade routes to Ladakh.
Flight to Islamabad (subject to weather) and transfer to the hotel. In the event of a cancellation, the journey proceeds via an overland drive to Chilas.
A day for rest and leisure in Islamabad. Those traveling by road will complete the final leg of the journey from Chilas to Islamabad.
Official farewell meeting and debriefing session. The afternoon is available for sightseeing in Islamabad before the final evening transfer to the airport for your return flight home.
