Khaplu Valley Tour

Gilgit Baltistan, Pakistan•10-15 Days•Year Round
Expedition Synopsis

Overview & Mountain Character

“An enchanting journey into eastern Baltistan's historic oasis, renowned for blooming apricot orchards, timber-carved palaces, and dramatic vistas towards Masherbrum.”

Set along the meandering waters of the Shyok River, the Khaplu Valley reveals a tranquil side of northern Pakistan, where ancient royal architecture meets vibrant agrarian gardens. Across the spring and summer seasons, the valley floor comes alive with fragrant fruit blossoms framed against towering Karakoram ridgelines. Travelers delve into traditional Balti rural customs, explore multi-century fortresses and shrines, and enjoy panoramic perspectives of 7,000-meter giants. Serving as the primary staging gateway for treks venturing toward Masherbrum (7,821m) and the Hushe cirque, this tour provides a relaxing balance of mountain beauty and authentic cultural immersion.
