Shipton Spire Climbing

Gilgit Baltistan, Pakistan•25-30 Days•June - August
Expedition Synopsis

Overview & Mountain Character

“Shipton Spire stands as a dramatic granite monolith neighbor to the Trango Towers, presenting elite big-wall technical lines on immaculate rock amidst raw Karakoram panoramas.”

The Shipton Spire climbing expedition represents a high-caliber objective for proficient rock alpinists, featuring a demanding 29-pitch, 4,400-foot continuous big-wall route with technical pitches graded 6c, 7b, and 7b+. Positioned directly over the junction of the North and South Hainabroq Glaciers, this ascent merges sustained big-wall difficulty with high-altitude alpine exposure, serving as an exceptional test piece on one of the most formidable granite needles in northern Pakistan.
